I recently traveled to Italy with Barbara Nelson Productions and Terry Abrams Photography. These are a few images taken at a small instrument construction and repair shop ( Liutaio) in Dovadola, Italy where the owner and artist is Luigi Foscolo Lombardi. My assignment was to look at things differently. I chose to use the found still life approach since that is what I was faced with. There were so many beautiful possibilities that I could not stop and would have preferred to continue for hours, but our shoot was complete in a short 45 minutes. I can’t tell you what all-of-the images are, other than some are or resemble string instruments being constructed or repaired. I have named them “Still Life # 1 though #8.”
