Bow River – Banff, Canada

I took this photo on July 23, 2008.  I  exposed three images at -1, 0, +1 f-stops thinking I would need to do an HDR conversion sometime later.

This particular shot was made with a Canon 40D using a Tamron 28-75 2.8 lens set at 47mm @ 1/125th of a second at ISO 100.

The HDR conversion was done with Photomatix Pro and the final adjustments were made in Photoshop CS5.

The weather in that part of Canada can be quite variable.  But no matter what the weather threw at us, the scenery was fantastic!

  1. Quite a grand photo. I like the implied perspective of the waterway leading you in to the image, that is stopped by that massive mountain range.
