This image was captured in Bayfield, Wisconsin, on a frigid January day with low light at a temperature of -20º F. I envisioned the beautiful flaming sun rising on this vividly colored snowbound tugboat as a painting on canvas. To enhance the original photograph, I created digital paintbrushes to produce a thick paint style with acrylic paint accents and acrylic gel texture which provides the impasto look and feel.
